Matthew Matt James was born in North Carolina on December 5 1991. Matthew Matt James is the mixed race child of Manny James (of Jamaican descent) along with Patty James. The mother of Manny James is caucasian while his father is Nigerian. In 2010, he graduated of Sanderson High School and furthered to Wake Forest University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Economics in the year 2015. James was first known by his character on The Bachelorette's reality star. In 2020 he got selected to be the next bachelor for The Bachelor's season 25, becoming The only African American male lead which later premiered in 2021. James' fit was perfect to be the role because he has an attractive, well-rounded, large-bodied personality. The season concluded when he chose Rachael Krkconnell to pursue an intimate relationship with the actress. The following year, in 2021, he was joined with the renowned dancer Arnold for season 30 Dancing with the Stars. James and Arnold finished 12th.
