Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 the 21st of September 1983 in Worthington Ohio, is an American actor. She is famous for her role as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills as well on ABC's Lost TV show. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington, Ohio and dropped out of school when her parents separated to go into Los Angeles to live with her mother. Although she was struggling financially and in the beginning, she made her acting debut in the role of Rachel's Room's principal character. The television film Murder in Greenwich that she appeared in, where she played a 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004, as well as sharing with her a Screen Actors Guild Award (with other cast members) with her. Grace decided to leave the show in order to focus on her acting career. The actress had been on the show with Tom Welling opposite in The Fog back in 2005. The actress has also appeared on Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and in 2007 and in Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. She reprised this role in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice as Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is the modern-day interpretation of the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised the role of Shannon for two additional episodes of Lost including the series finale. Grace was a part of the show's sixth season, which aired between 2013 and the year 2014. The character she plays is Faith who's both the star-gazer and a groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She belongs to the Gyllenhaal family and is the sister to Jake Gyllenhaal. The first time she appeared in films of her father when he was an adolescent. Along with her brother, she was also on the screen in Donnie Darko (2000). The year 2002 saw her was featured as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. She also appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her leading performances in the erotic romantic comedy drama Secretary (2002) and in the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) both of which brought her the Golden Globe Award nomination. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008 after numerous highly successful films, including World Trade Center (2006), brought Gyllenhaal greater fame. The year 2009 was the time she was nominated as the Best Supporting Actress at the Oscar Awards for her performance of a single mother in Crazy Heart. Following that, she starred in comedies as well as dramatic movies: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. Alongside her work as a Secret Service agent, she has also appeared on screen in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). The most recent roles were her character as the primary protagonist of the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal debuted as a director and writer in 2021, with her drama about psychological issues The Lost Daughter. For the film, she won with the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and nominated for an Academy Award.
